“Our community and staff are our foundation. In order to get through this together, we have to be resilient and support each other however we can.”

Freerange play for curious minds…at home (for now)

We are an indoor, play-based learning environment that engages children through one-of-a-kind experiences, with a sophisticated aesthetic and a hospitality-inspired parent offering. Touted by Bethesda Magazine and Washington Parent as the best play space for children, we provide a one-of-a-kind experience for kids and adults alike!

A different way to play

Both children and adults can explore and learn at Badlands. Kids will find hands-on experiences around every corner, ample space for freerange play and plenty of guided activities for little minds to grow. Grown-ups can relax at our café with a latte, tasty meal or cocktail. While our doors are temporarily closed you can still experience the fun of Badlands with virtual drum circles, science experiments, dance parties, story times and more. Having a birthday while home quarantined? Check out our Birthdays in a bag.

Let’s be friends

Badlands has a deep love for our community. Every year Badlands donates play towards schools, charities and various non-profits. Badlands is a proud partner of Children’s National Hospital, DC, Nourish Now, Mended Little Hearts of Washington DC and dozens of other local organizations in the area.
