Real Play. Inspired Learning.

At Badlands, we have created an experience that provides children with the often-overlooked, informal learning that happens outside of the classroom. We provide an educational experience that teaches children to be present, step out of their comfort zones, and be creative with real-life materials.

In our fast-paced, tech-saturated world, it can be hard to find time to simply be. When kids are taught to be mindful, they learn to experience the present moment, become self-aware, and enhance decision-making and relationship skills. When children play, they are naturally present. That’s why we created a space where children can play mindfully and learn to cultivate that presence in other areas of their lives.

Kids need to play. Active play promotes children’s growth physically, socially, and emotionally. Badlands features elements that will encourage children to challenge themselves. Children do not realize what they are truly capable of until they break out of their comfort zones. By running, jumping, and climbing through the Badlands play environment, kids will develop strong muscles, reflexes, and balance. In the Workshop, kids will develop fine-motor and problem-solving skills while they take part in passive play. Developmentally-appropriate, but challenging tasks will help kids find fortitude and a new sense of confidence.

At Badlands, children learn to recognize mindfulness in their play, and through encouragement from our staff, they learn to be mindful in school, in their interactions with others, and in their day-to-day lives.
