Badlands is a nature-inspired play space designed with the whole family in mind. Our 30,000 square foot facility provides opportunities for families to grow together and for children to learn through both active and passive play, risk-taking, and mindfulness. Parents can work with their children designing and creating in the Workshop or relax in the café while the kids explore the open play area, climb the mountain, or tinker with a new tool. POSITION SUMMARY

Manages and administers all HR programs, policies, and processes; provides HR policy guidance and interpretation; builds effective and trusted partnerships with staff at all levels; leads and supports the performance management process; analyzes HR metrics; manages and administers employee compensation and benefits programs; promotes positive employee relations and drives culture; creates and delivers talent management strategies in alignment with business objectives; leads all training and development initiatives; maintains the integrity and confidentiality of company records; ensures compliance with federal and state employment and safety regulations.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Establishes HR strategies, goals, objectives, and measurable outcomes; proactively collaborates with the management team to ensure successful planning and implementation of a broad range of HR programs, policies, and people practices; effectively communicates HR policies, procedures, programs, and activities.
  • Develops and implements talent acquisition strategies; establishes and maintains best-in-class, full-lifecycle recruitment processes to include employment branding, creative sourcing strategies, and partnerships with hiring managers to provide results-driven hiring practices; provides support and assistance in creating job descriptions; posts open positions; actively participates in the interview and selection process; ensures successful on-boarding of new hires, promotions, and transfers.
  • Provides effective leadership, consultation, and resolution on employee relations issues; proactively implements employee relations strategies to avoid potential issues and minimize the risk of incidents; maintains a thorough understanding of current employment law and HR Best Practices; interprets employment law and company policy; ensures adherence to company policies and procedures; maintains appropriate documentation.
  • Fosters an employee-oriented culture that emphasizes continuous improvement, team work, and high performance; leads the performance management process; ensures that feedback is being effectively delivered to all employees along with applicable documentation; identifies and makes recommendations on training and development needs to enhance employee performance.
  • Manages and administers benefits programs to ensure they are current, competitive, and in compliance with legal requirements; negotiates annual benefits renewals; audits and processes invoices; resolves discrepancies.
  • Manages and administers compensation, bonus, and incentive programs; performs market benchmarking and evaluation of new and existing jobs to ensure appropriate, competitive, and compliant compensation practices; recommends annual merit increase budgets; advises managers on matters relating to compensation.
  • Performs other job-related responsibilities, as required.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, HR, or related field (SHRM and/or PHR certification preferred) and 3+ years of related experience with demonstrated accomplishments in leading Human Resources activities.
  • Strong business acumen and a proven ability to align and connect company vision, mission, and business objectives with HR strategies and programs.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, collaboration, organizational, conflict resolution, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Must be a self-starter and high-performing individual with good judgement and the ability to take initiative and follow through on tasks to completion.
  • Strong knowledge of current employment laws and regulations and ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
