HOMESCHOOL DAYS

Bring STEM learning to life!

Through hands-on problem solving, creativity, and play, children will explore each month’s theme. Next up, Electricity & Magnetism!

Each Homeschool Day has morning and afternoon programs. When you sign up for a Homeschool Day program, you can play at Badlands from 9:30am to 2:30pm that day, but you must sign up for each program individually.

NOVEMBER 28TH AND 29TH PROGRAMS

10:00 – 11:30 AM

MAGNETIC MYSTERIES

Ages: 4-6

Students will venture throughout the Badlands Playspace to discover which types of materials are affected by magnets. Then they will head back into the Workshop where they will create their own magnetic maze to take home.

ELECTRICITY GAME LAB

Ages: 7-9

Students will learn the basics of how electricity flows and will participate in several homemade electricity games. Then each participant will have an opportunity to make their own game to take home!

12:30 – 2:00 PM

ELECTRICAL BUG EXPLORATIONS

Ages 4-6

Students will create an “electricity detecting bug” which will help them explore which types of materials conduct electricity. Then they will use playdough to create kid-friendly electric circuits as they learn how electricity flows through objects.

MAGLEV MANIA

Ages 7-9

Students will learn about the forces that make MagLev trains work, then will create their own model levitating vehicle to carry “passengers” from one place to another.
