Bring STEM learning to life!

Through hands-on problem solving, creativity, and play, children will explore each month’s theme. Next up, PLANTS!

Each Homeschool Day has morning and afternoon programs. When you sign up for a Homeschool Day program, you can play at Badlands from 9:30am to 2:30pm that day, but you must sign up for each program individually.

10:00 – 11:00 AM

Ages: 4-6

Kids will create their own miniature gardens! They will have a chance to choose and plant small plants, add structural elements like gravel and mulch, and then add characters, shelters, and all sorts of creations for their own small inhabitants.

Ages: 7-9

In this class, students will have an opportunity to adopt a pet plant! In order to make sure they are prepared to take care of their new pet, they will learn about what plants need and then create a “home” for their plant that will make sure it gets sunlight, air and water. At the end of the class kids will bring home their new pet plant in its custom-designed package!

1:00 – 2:00 PM

Ages 4-6

In this class, students will investigate how plants and pollinators work together. They will explore different flowers and find the pollen hiding inside their petals, then learn about different pollinators and how they spread pollen from plant to plant. The class will conclude with students making their own model flowers and bees to see pollination in action!

Ages 7-9

Students will learn about different parts of a plant and how they grow. During this class, students will have the chance to dissect a flower and see what makes up the inside of the plant. After learning about the roots, stems, leaves, and flowers kids will have the opportunity to create and take home a 3D plant model made out various materials.
